Komiza Services

Post Office

The Komiza Post Office (3) is located  located in the streets behind the harbour on its south side. Head inland from square known as the Skor (the location of the Palaca Zanetova) and it is situated in a modern building on the right-hand side along with am internet cafe/tourist agency.

The fresh produce market is located in the square outside the Post Office (3) and offers good value for money as well as a wider range of fresher produce than the two small supermarkets closer to the harbour front.

The Splitska Bank has a branch behind the cafes on the Riva (7) however as is often the case with banks in the Dalmatian Islands its cash machine is not located on the same site but by the Harbour office at the end of the breakwater (10)

Komiza Tourist Office (and Harbour office)

The tourist office (2) is almost opposite the shore end of the harbour breakwater. Mooring fees should also be paid here. Opening times are unclear but they can be contacted by phone +038 (021) 713 455 and found on the web at .

There are two supermarkets in Komiza (6), though small both are well stocked, though fruit and veg may be better purchased in the market outside the Post Office (3). These should cover all of the basics, including local wines and specialities, but if you require something more out of the ordinary don’t expect the product range you might find in a larger northern European supermarket -  for such items you might have to travel to Split or another big city. The bakers (8( is located on a corner just behind the Cafe Keke and is open from early in the morning. Along the Riva (the harbour front) and the street  that runs around to the Hotel Bisevo there are a number of tourist and souvenir shops several of which may be able also to provide more specialsied chandlery  - though targeted primarily at the fishing industry.

Walking north east along the narrow street that leads towards the Bisevo hotel you will pass the shop of Zoky (9), a hairdresser/barbers. Service here is quick, friendly and excellent (though I tend to opt for a simple total clip!). Zoky appears also to have a good reputation locally and it may be wise to make an appointment.
