Uvala Stoncica and Lighthouse, Vis
Panoramic view, Walk, Beach
Uvala Stoncica is a beautiful sheltered inlet at the east end of Vis. The bay is narrow and for much of its length shallow, with a small sandybeach at its west end where there are several small tavernas serving simple food. Paths snake there way along either shore. Following the eastern shore north (towards the sea) will eventually bring you to Rt. Stoncica where the impressive lighthouse of Stoncica stands. This is a limestone tower of around 20 metres which stands sentinel over the Stoncica headland the most north-easterly point of Otok Vis and the island’s closest point to Hvar.
The view from this point is of Hvar and in the distance the main land
Land access to this site is uncertain as our visits have always been by sea. However there is clearly a track approaching Uvala Stoncica from the south.
Otok Vis: on the north-eastern corner of the island. Access by road seems to be by means of a track from the south.
