Milna Gun Battery, Vis
Panoramic view, Walk, Site of historic interest: coastal gun battery
On the coastal slopes to the east of the village of Milna on Vis’s southern shore are the remains of another Yugoslav period coastal gun battery. This consists of four concrete gun emplacements and several bunkers (command and control?) further up the slope.
Unlike the Barjaci Battery these emplacements show signs of being camouflaged as piles of stones typical of the surrounding cliffs.
Land access to this site is uncertain as we have always viewed it from the sea. However there is clearly a track approaching the site from the north.
Otok Vis: on the southern shore to the south of Viska Luka and to the east of the village of Milna. Tracks seem to approach the site both from Milna and from the road to the north.
