Restaurant Pojoda, Kut, Vis
This excellent restaurant, is accessed through an arched passageway leading to both in door and out door seating arranged around a wonderful courtyard, which is overhung by orange and lemon trees. Specialising in sea food, the menu can vary depending what has been caught that day, but it also includes some traditional recipes and family recipes, particularly on the starter menu.
If you do not fancy fish then they also do some excellent meat dishes including their own take on Beef Florentine which is well worth a try. Don’t forget to order gin and tonic and then choose the lemon you want from the trees overhanging your table. Service is excellent and friendly, cost are reasonable and meals always seem like good value for money.
This is the peak of eating in Croatia, what it is all about as you cruise between the Dalmatian islands. A good restaurant is so much more than excellent food, and the food at the Pojoda is more than excellent, but in addition to that the setting is everything and as the gentle scent of fresh oranges and lemons surrounds you the service is friendly and knowledgable, witty and just perfectly attentive, there is no hurry here - or there is - they serve to meet your pace.
To ensure a seat it is often worth visiting earlier in the day to make a reservation for the evening.
